Sire: Captain Maverick
Dam: Honeypot Zarina
An evenly marked piebaldtobiano, Ricco was bred at the Glencrutten Stud, by Mr Alan McKechnie, for his bloodlines and ability.
Ricco's well-known Sire was Captain Maverick and his Dam was owned by Sue Kennedy of the Honeypot Stud. Ricco's Grandsire, Zhivago, is the sire of Tullibards Shakespeare. Ricco isn't Dutch! No European bloodlines here, just the best thoroughbred breeding you can get: Captain Maverick, Chef-De-Race Nureyev and Northern Dancer, and that's just Dad's side! Top Hat, Zhivago and Flying Bee on Mum's side.
Ricco is ideal for national hunt, point to point and team chasing and perfect for producing event horses. He is built with speed, bravery and elegance. He takes on flooded rivers with ease, and he boldly goes where others fear to tread!
